J-HAVEN DAIRY GOATS

Jill M. Pritchett

Thank you for your interest in my dairy goat herd. My mom raised Dairy Goats since  1977 then in 1990 turned them over to me when she just couldn’t do it anymore. She mainly had Nubians and I traded a lady for my first alpine doe that year. Soon my Alpines out numbered the Nubians. Then in 1999 my friend Judy Enstrom was selling her Lamancha herd and I have always adored the breed so I bought two of her best kids. Then in 2001 I bought some very nice animals from Tabby Malone and Sharon Christiansen as they were getting out of the goat business. I was so lucky that I started out in this breed with such gorgeous animals. It was down hill from there. My Lamancha herd out numbers my alpine and I sold the rest of my Nubian herd in 2005 three breeds were just to much. I have worked really hard to get my herd to where it is today. Through hard work and finding the best genetics I could afford I have built it up from where I started.

All kids are raised on heat treated colostrums and bottle fed then switched to a lambbar with pasteurized milk. In addition the entire herd is vaccinated CD&T vaccine and de-wormed regularly. Kids are fed an 18% complete pellet medicated for Coccidia until they are 10 months old and high quality alfalfa or grass hay with alfalfa pellets depending on what the year brings. Kids are de-wormed starting at 3 weeks and 5 weeks then monthly. They are also given tetanus antitoxin and at least two CD&T vaccine before they leave.

A $100 deposit is required on all orders, with the balance due upon notification of birth. If the balance isn’t received within 2 weeks after notification the kid will either be offered to someone  else or retained in the herd. I do reserve the right to retain any kid for my own replacement animals. So if possible please make a second and even third choice. If your kid is not available I will offer you a different kid or your deposit will be refunded. No refunds of deposits on canceled orders. Prices are on pre-ordered kids only. After they are born prices are not guaranteed.  If any animal is found to be genetically unsound or infertile it will be replaced, upon receiving a signed statement from a vet or semen collector saying it is a genetic defect or sterile. All shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility. Health Certificates are provided by me with no cost to you.

This sales list and prices is for kids born in 2008 kidding season. To keep my herd size down I always have quality milkers for sale each spring. I do not sale milkers to individuals unless they are show quality. I export all does or sell to families wanting milk only the milkers that I do not think will show in the top half of their class. Questions are always welcome. Thanks again for your interests. If you are interested in a doe or a kid that I do not have a picture of I can take one and email or send it to you.

In the 2006 show season the herd brought home 7 X GCH, 8 X RGCH, 8X BUOB, a BUIS and a BDIS.
In 2007 the herd brougt home 14X GCH, 8 X RGCH, 8 X BOB, 8 X BUOB, a BUIS, a BDIS and a BBIS. And not to mention we had tons of FUN and met some great people along the way.
